Christmas market 2018

 
 

Book a bed and breakfast, a holiday home or an apartment in Trieste in December to experience the magical atmosphere of the unique Central European Christmas market overlooking the sea! From December 8 to 22 different areas of the historic city center, including Piazza Sant'Antonio, Piazza della Borsa and Piazza dell'Unità d'Italia, will host the Christmas village. By strolling through the characteristic wooden houses it will be possible to buy tipical handicrafts or food and wine specialties from many countries, among which we mention Croatia, Finland, Great Britain, Baltic Republics, Russia, Serbia, Slovenia, Spain and Hungary.

The lines of decorated trees, the illuminations and Christmas music will help transform the Piazza dell'Unità d'Italia in a really evocative of Christmas cards.

Sunday at the Museum

 
 

On July 1st, as every first Sunday of the month, it will be possible to visit all the Civic Museums (with the exception of the Morpurgo Museum and the Museo di Storia Patria) without paying the entrance fee. Here below the list of the structures:

2Cellos in concert in Koper

 
 

After giving a special rendition of the UEFA Champions League anthem moments before Real Madrid and Liverpool in Kyiv, the 2Cellos will be back in concert in Koper: the Croatian / Slovenian cellist duo formed by Luka Šulić and Stjepan Hauser will give exceptional and mesmerizing performance at the POLETNA ARENA BONIFIKA in Koper, a few kilometers from Trieste, on June 29th 2018.

Mobile ticketing Trieste Trasporti

 
 

The public transport company Trieste Trasporti launches the new mobile ticketing service: from today you can buy the bus ticket from your smartphone simply by sending an SMS to the number 4850850 by typing the text TST for a time ticket (60 minutes) or TSTG for a day ticket (valid until midnight on the day of issue). The reply message, which arrives after a few moments, must be kept and exhibited in case of control. The message must be sent before boarding.

The ticket purchased from mobile devices costs 1.5 euros, the daily 4.35 euros, as established by regional resolution. In the case of purchases via SMS, the cost of the message may be added to the ticket price, if provided for by the tariff plan.

The best ice cream masters of the city of Trieste will compete at Eataly Wednesday, June 13 starting at 17:30. Adriatica Ionica Race 2018

 
 
On Sunday, June 24th, 2018 grand finale of the Adriatica Ionica race 2018, a cycling races for professionals included in the international EUROPA TOURS calendar of the International Cycling Union. The fifth and last stage of 125 km will start from Grado, along the streets of Trieste Karst to end with a circuit in the historic center of Trieste. The evocative setting of Piazza Unità d'Italia will crown the winner of the first Adriatica Ionica Race. Tourist Exchange BUY 2018 in Trieste

 
 
From June 6th to10th the BUY FVG 2018 will be held at the Stazione Marittima congress center. About 150 tour operators and several journalists of the main national and international tourist magazines will join the 6th edition of the Tourism Exchange of Friuli Venezia Giulia. Turist tax

 
 
Starting from June 1st a turist tax will be applied to all turist accomodations located in Trieste: bed and breakfast, hotels, holiday homes and villas. The tax income will finance investments to improve the tourist offer as well as services and interventions to promote the tourist offer in the local area.

The 300 square meters of floor space not only house the exhibition area but also a spacious equipped teaching laboratory, a multimedia room and a space designed for children, to be used as a library but also as a creative workshops, which can be created and promoted also in collaboration with other realities of the city and the territory.

In occasione del trecentesimo anniversario della nascita di Maria Teresa d’Austria, dal 7 ottobre 2017 al 18 febbraio 2018 il Magazzino delle Idee a Trieste presenta la mostra Maria Teresa e Trieste. Storia e culture della città e del suo porto, attraverso un percorso inedito – tra storia, costume e società – dedicato a Trieste e allo straordinario ruolo che Maria Teresa d’Austria ebbe nello sviluppo urbano, sociale, politico e culturale della città, anticipando il futuro con le sue riforme. La mostra è organizzata da ERPaC (Ente regionale per il patrimonio culturale del Friuli Venezia Giulia), Servizio promozione, valorizzazione e sviluppo del territorio, in collaborazione con il Polo Museale del Friuli Venezia Giulia e l’Università di Trieste.
